Drift Away

Drifloon's Pokedex

DrifloonWhen a Pokemon is encountered in a Pokemon game, it is added to the trainer's Pokedex. Pokedex entries reveal a little about each Pokemon. By looking at each game's Pokedex entry for Drifloon, we're able to learn quite a bit about the Pokemon.

For a creature appearing in a game series targeted towards children, Drifloon's Pokedex entries are actually quite dark. Luring children to take them to the afterlife? What kind of demented creature is Drifloon?

I gathered three main things from Drifloon's Pokedex entries: it lures children to the afterlife, it's a signpost for wandering spirits, and it's an object of duplicity. Drifloon is certainly not as benevolent as it appears. I've discussed all three of these in depth in the Analysis section of this site.
